J. Oscar Simmons

A native of Tampa, Florida. Acting soon became his kindred spirit and immersed himself in the local theater community. He began his journey by performing in local productions; Ceremonies in Dark Old Men, Happy Ending, Amateur Night at the Apollo hosted by Sinbad, as well as modeling and nurturing his musical talents. He enrolled in an acting internship at the renown, Alliance Theater, under the artistic direction of TONY award winning Kenny Leon. He was met with many opportunities to continue "the craft" with seasoned performers like, the late Whitman Mayo(Sanford and Son), Phylicia Rashad(Cosby Show), the late Carol Mitchell-Leon and many others.
