D.C. Douglas
D.C. Douglas has cobbled together a fairly quirky acting career covering stage, screen and console since 1985.
In film and television, D.C. has popped up in odd or cultish indie films, from Sharknado 2: The Second One (2014) and Deadwater (2008) to Aquarium of the Dead (2021) and Isle of the Dead (2016). As a TV "journeyman" he's guest-starred or recurred in over 50 shows, including Boston Common (1996), The Bold and the Beautiful (1987), Z Nation (2014) , and CSI: Vegas (2021).
In voice over, D.C. found much unexpected success. He has described his foray into VO as accidental - a career "add-on" his commercial agent, Katy Wallin, introduced him to in the early '90's.
His most notable commercial campaigns were for Geico's "Real Person" campaign ('05-'08), Ashley Furniture Homestore ('03 - '06) and Experian ('16 - '18) featuring D.C. and SpongeBob SquarePants (1999)'s Tom Kenny.
In the video game world, he's known as the heart-string-pulling Geth, Legion, in the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition (2021) trilogy, the voice of the iconic villain, Albert Wesker, in "Resident Evil" games from 2007-2019, and Kamoshida in Persona 5 (2016).
In anime, his popular voice roles include Yoshikage Kira in JoJo no Kimyô na Bôken (2012), Wooden Sword Ryu in Shaman King (2021) and Praetorian in Super Crooks (2021). Cartoon highlights include Transformers: Rescue Bots (2011) and Regular Show (2009).
D.C. was born in Berkeley, California, but lived and performed in theatre throughout the San Francisco Bay Area in the late '70's and early '80's. in 1985, his family history of the circus, vaudeville and burlesque (his grandmother was Grace Hathaway) led him to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles.
He attended the Estelle Harman Actor's Workshop from '85-'89. He was a member of the critically acclaimed New One-Act Theatre Ensemble (Theatre of NOTE) from '89-'93 and produced several plays and a few cabaret shows in the '90's and 2000's.
D.C. has also written, produced and directed numerous short films over the years. In 2009,The Crooked Eye (2009), starring Academy Award winner Linda Hunt, received several awards and available on iTunes.
Politically, in 2010 D.C. garnered many fans and detractors on social media for mocking the Tea Party movement and becoming "breaking news" on Fox News for a week, appearing on At Large with Geraldo Rivera (2003), The Joy Behar Show (2009), and becoming the set-up for a comic bit about animated corporate spokesmen on The Daily Show (1996).
All that led to a string of online satirical political videos poking fun at bigotry ("Burn A Koran Day"), online misogyny Anne Thériault's the Feminist in the Wild (2015), and corporate greed ("Why #OccupyWallStreet" which was aired on The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell (2010)). During the Trump years he wrote, produced and directed 19 episodes of Breaking News: Fake Trump Cartoons! (2017) featuring the voices of many popular voice actors, including Jason Marsden, Maurice LaMarche, Steve Blum, and Robbie Daymond.
Due to his popularity with video game and anime fans, D.C. occasionally appears at anime/culture cons. Aside from innumerable US cons, past years have included Canada, UK, Australia and UAE.
