Michael Allowitz born and raised in LA, left film school to pursue a career in film. He quickly rose from a Production Assistant to an Assistant Director working in all facets of production from commercials to indie films. During a 2 year hiatus, Michael wrote, directed and edited a short film while living in France. He returned to the states with his eye on becoming a full time director. Once given the chance to direct on The Vampire Diaries he delivered and soon became a freelance TV director bouncing around to several different shows directing several different genres. He currently resides between France and Atlanta.
