On 2013, Sakuma Yui auditioned as an exclusive model for the fashion magazine Vivi. She later won the Girls Award '13A/W on September 28 of the same year, and later first appeared on Vivi's December issue on October 23. Beside her modeling career, she played in the 2014 film, Jinrou Game Beast Side. It became Sakuma's first acting activity. On 2015, She starred on the Fuji Television drama, Transit Girls, the first lesbian main theme drama in Japan television drama history. On 2017, Sakuma Yui joined NHK asadora (morning drama) Hiyokko, along side with Arimura Kasumi.
